2012 Summer Olympic Games

The Olympics are in full swing, empty seats and all! London is the first city to officially host the modern Olympic Games three times, having done so already in 1908 and in 1948. You would think that the third timearound they could figure out how to get tickets in the hands of fans.

There’s archery, boxing, cycling, diving, football (or soccer as it is called by the American Football loving public), swimming, tennis and one of the most watched sports- gymnastics. But that’s not all. The games feature 26 sports, which break down into 39 disciplines.

These games are not even a week old and Michael Phelps has become the most decorated Olympian in history, the U.S womans gymnastics team won gold, and one of the biggest favorites in all team competitions at these games has already been eliminated. Spain's Mens soccer team crashed out at these games a month removed from their victory at Euro 2012. It seems Brazil's road in trying to win their first gold medal in mens soccer has become less bumpy.

What other suprises await us at these games? Check it out at http://www.london2012.com/ and see how the progress is coming along. I’m sure the
Guinness is flowing all over the pubs of London.

As for the empty seats in the stadiums and the fans that travelled to the games and have been unable to purchase tickets for those empty seats… Maybe the organizers can figure it out by the time London hosts the Olympics for a fourth time...
